West Country Concertina Players meet regularly throughout the year at Ruishton Village Hall, near Taunton.

The Play Days are structured so that there is something for everyone - from the absolute beginner through to advanced players. There are workshops for all concertina systems usually run by Club Members and we also have occasional guest Tutors.

The day is designed so that there is time to socialise and share experiences, so much learning takes place through 'osmosis'. There are opportunities to play together both in a formal three or four part band and also on a more informal basis at the end of the day.

Beginners are always welcome and we have some excellent players who are happy to help newcomers to progress.

For those traveling long distances to Ruishton overnight accommodation is available nearby at Travelodge, Days Inn, Express By Holiday Inn, and Premier Inn.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided (donations please).

Please bring a packed lunch.. there are no shops open in the village on Sundays.

The fee for the day is £5.00.

Play days are normally held on the first Sunday of alternate months.

Please see the Club Programme page for details of the future meetings.

Can you help with Beginners English Concertina at Ruishton Meetings?

We are looking for a group of folks who would take it in turns to assist Beginners on the English Concertina. We have the Frank Butler book, so you would not have to do any preparation. Please let Kate know if this is something you could help us with.
